“Where we love is home—home that our feet may leave, but not our hearts.” -Oliver Wendell Homes

As you dock off the boat and make your way through the lush green confines of the home stay, the wonderful colours of the property with beautifully manicured gardens will coax you into its welcoming warmth.

The Home stay, run by the Nair family, is names after Ayana, the first grand-daughter of the Nair family, in the tradition which honours women of the family. Pampatheeram means ‘besides the river Pampa’, which is exactly where you will stay when you come live with us. Often dubbed as the ‘Venice of the East’, the river and connecting canals are used as a means of travel and transport instead of roads.

The rooms at the Nair household are spacious and genially minimal with traditional Keralan furniture guaranteeing a taste of history and heritage.

Since you are a guest of the family, extra care is taken by each and every household member to put you at ease and help answer all burning questions about the culture and the region. Through constant and close engagement with the family and locals you will leave far more enriched and entrenched in authentic traditional customs and practices than you ever imagined. Orientation sessions to yoga and other more engagement driven activities can be made easily available upon request.

The beauty of Ayana’a lies in the fact that it will make you feel like you are in a home, far away from home. Lie on the hammock with a book in your hand and the chirping of the birds as your overhead soundtrack, and immerse yourself in the luxury of a quintessential home stay experience.
